Summary
Performs assigned medical record functions quickly and accurately working varied shifts to meet the department operational needs.

Essential Responsibilities and Duties
1.Files medical records in terminal digit order and loose sheet documents in correct patient charts and in correct chart.

2. Researches and locates lost/missing records/documents.

3. Prepares records for KFNCC, Jeddah branch and controls delivery and return of records.

4. Performs all related functions for retrieval and delivery for Protocol,Emergency and walk-in patients.

5. Receives discharge patient records from all wards and matches with the discharge list.

6. Retrieves scheduled patient charts by clinics,transfers and confirms the records using chart tracking system,delivers and collects records to/from the clinic.

7. Process transcribed reports and answers to the physician phone calls and pages in a timely manner providing support services.

8. Provides customer service to Reserach & Study chart Reviews while retrieving records in a timely manner.

9. Prepares records for Tumor Registry and Statisical units based on admission dates and identifies proper volume.

10. Answers telephone calls and takes necessary action,runs between various locations i.e. warehouse and family medicine to locate charts for physicians and patients.

11. Maintains accurate permanent files by performing purge and audit,keeping the file area neat and organized.

12. CoordinateS the activities of physician reminders and schedules for chart completion.

13. Performs transcription system related functions to include training and activiating the new physicians.Provides technicial support to assure that the dictating and transcription systems are operational including troubleshooting the equipment.

14. Covers reception desk, greets customers, answers phone and takes clear and concise messages

15. Follows all Hospital related policies and procedures.

16. Participates in self and others education.training and development,as applicable.

Education
Bachelor’s or Associate Diploma in Medical Record Management, or any other Medical Records related discipline is required.

Experience Required
No experience required with Bachelor’s Degree or one (1) year of related experience with Associate Degree/Diploma is required.
