Job description
The translation effort touches the essence of the research content and requires someone who possesses the right knowledge, domain & technical terminology, & experience, understand cultural differences and political correctness in all of the languages required. Above all that, the translator should work closely with the researchers in order to truly interpret their intentions and effectively convey the meaning to the targeted audience.
Major Responsibilities :
Read and understand text material and research energy, economics, & policy terminology
Converting research content between English and Arabic languages
Ensuring translated texts conveys original meaning and tone
Work closely with the authors to truly interpret their content
Cross-reference translation tools
Follow up with authors and other team members to ensure translation process is moving smoothly
Proofread translated content for spelling, grammar and punctuation accuracy
Ensure the compliance with KAPSARC style and citations guidelines
Competencies:
Fluent in Arabic and English
Knowledge of the energy, economics, & policy terminology
Knowledge and expertise in handling Microsoft Office software
Excellent interpersonal, time management and communication skills
Ability to work with internal and external teams and partners
Familiarity with translation software
Qualifications:
Bachelor degree or higher in Linguistics, Translation, Literature or relevant field
Proven experience in translating academic publications
Additional certification in Linguistics is a plus
