Saudi Arabia Launches Electronic Travel Authorization (ETA) Service for UK Citizens

The Saudi Ministry of Foreign Affairs has announced the launch of the Electronic Travel Authorization (ETA) service for citizens of the United Kingdom, marking a new step in strengthening the longstanding and distinguished relations between Saudi Arabia and the UK.
The initiative comes as part of efforts to facilitate travel procedures and is in line with similar travel arrangements offered by the British government to Saudi citizens through its own ETA system.
Under the new service, UK nationals will be able to enter Saudi Arabia using a multiple-entry electronic travel authorization, allowing stays of up to 180 days continuously or intermittently within one year.
The ETA permits travel to the Kingdom for various purposes, including tourism, short-term study, and business visits. However, it does not cover work visas, residency permits, or Hajj visas, which require applicants to obtain the appropriate dedicated visas.
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs stated that the new service will come into effect on Wednesday, July 1, 2026, and will apply to all types of UK passports, opening broader prospects for cooperation and further strengthening the partnership between the two friendly nations and peoples.
